Nevada · November 3, 2026 general election · Statewide ballot measure

Question 6: what your vote means

Right to abortion. On every Nevada ballot. Official sources checked October 21, 2026.

Question 6 · Initiated constitutional amendment (second approval)

Right to abortion

Official ballot title (quoted exactly)

Should the Nevada Constitution be amended to create an individual’s fundamental right to an abortion, without interference by state or local governments, whenever the abortion is performed by a qualified healthcare professional until fetal viability or when necessary to protect the health or life of the pregnant individual at any point during the pregnancy?

Ballot question (condensation) as published by the Nevada Secretary of State.

A YES vote means:

The Nevada Constitution would include a fundamental right to abortion until fetal viability, or later “when needed to protect the life or health of the pregnant patient,” without interference from state or local governments.

A NO vote means:

The Nevada Constitution stays as it is, and abortion remains a right under existing Nevada statute.

What it would change

  • Who is affected: patients, health care practitioners, and state and local governments.
  • Limits: government may interfere only for a compelling state interest, achieved by the least restrictive means, limited to the health of the patient seeking care.
  • Second vote: voters approved this in 2024; it takes effect only if approved again in 2026.
  • Fiscal impact: The Legislative Counsel Bureau’s Fiscal Analysis Division says the financial impact cannot be determined, because it is unknown which existing laws, if any, would need to change.
