Pennsylvania county laws

Select your county on the map or in the list. Each county page links to the official county code and meeting agendas, and lists recent ordinances and resolutions, in plain language where a summary has been written. County laws change often, and the official source is always the authority.

Good to know: Pennsylvania counties are run by a board of county commissioners, or by a county council in home-rule counties such as Allegheny, Delaware, Erie, Luzerne and Northampton. Philadelphia is a city and a county in one; its laws are made by Philadelphia City Council. Cities, boroughs and townships pass their own local laws; this guide covers county government only.
