Ohio county laws

Select your county on the map or in the list. Each county page links to the official county code and meeting agendas, and lists recent ordinances and resolutions, in plain language where a summary has been written. County laws change often, and the official source is always the authority.

Good to know: Ohio counties are run by a board of county commissioners (a few charter counties such as Cuyahoga, Summit and Franklin differ). Counties pass resolutions and very few publish a codified set of ordinances, so many pages here have no code link. Townships, cities and villages pass their own local laws; this guide covers county government only.
