Alabama county laws

Select your county on the map or in the list. Each county page links to the official county code and meeting agendas, and lists recent ordinances and resolutions, in plain language where a summary has been written. County laws change often, and the official source is always the authority.

Good to know: Alabama counties are governed by an elected County Commission (a few use the name Board of Revenue or similar). Counties in Alabama have limited power to make local laws: the Legislature must authorize many county rules, so counties publish mostly resolutions, and only some publish a code of ordinances.
