Amendment 7: Permanent public endowment fund to replace state taxes
On the ballot: November 3, 2026 Legislatively referred constitutional amendment (SS SCS SJR 95, 2026)
Heads up: voting YES on this measure could eventually eliminate state-imposed taxes, once the State Treasurer certifies the new fund’s earnings are enough to replace them.
A YES vote means
The constitution would create the “Show-Me Prosperity Fund,” a permanent endowment that the General Assembly could not spend until the State Treasurer certifies its earnings are enough to eliminate state-imposed taxes, at which point those taxes would end.
A NO vote means
No endowment fund would be created in the constitution.
