Statewide Amendment 1: Lieutenant governor vacancies, legislative officer pay, and travel approval
On the ballot: November 3, 2026 Legislatively referred constitutional amendment (Act 2026-341)
A YES vote means
An election would be held to fill a vacancy in the office of lieutenant governor that occurs more than 60 days before the next general election for state officers, and the Legislature could set the pay of the lieutenant governor and legislative officers by joint resolution.
A NO vote means
The Alabama Constitution would not be changed.
